The Highmark Spire LT 3.0 Avalanche Airbag Vest is a revolution in technology for snowmobilers and features the latest in avalanche airbag technology – Snowpulse 3.0.

The Highmark Spire is unlike any other Vest on the market. Its made of a super lightweight material that reduces weight, increases mobility and makes for a much cooler experience – temperature wise and otherwise! The Highmark SPIRE includes a Protection Airbag System (the kind that deploys around your neck and chest), meaning that this lightweight avalanche vest can provide Trauma Protection in the event of an avalanche, unlike any other avalanche airbag on the market.

The Handle

In an emergency situation, deployment of the airbag needs to be fast and intuitive. Studies have shown that in an extreme situation, many users are over-challenged and do not manage to activate the airbag. Highmark by Snowpulses new deployment handle is more intuitive to operate and is also height-­adjustable to allow it to be adapted to the wearers body height. The deployment handle is now a bright orange color to make it even more visible. The handle can be folded to allow compact storage in the shoulder strap.

The Inflation System

The Inflation System 3.0 found in the Highmark SPIRE Vest describes the component used to deploy the airbag. The system activates the deployment mechanism which opens the pressure cartridge with a pin and fills the airbag. The integrated air volume amplifier also sends ambient air to the airbag in addition to the gas stored in the pressure cartridge. One of Snowpulses objectives for the new development was to bring the air volume amplifier and deployment mechanism together in a single housing in order to save space and weight. The inflation system is reliable, low-maintenance and extremely user-friendly: just screw the cartridge in and youre ready to go!

The Weight

The Snowpulse 3.0 is Snowpulses lightest airbag system of all time and weighs less than 1 liter of water. Consequently, at less than 1kg, this is the lightest system they have ever developed.

The Protection Airbag System (PAS)

The Mammut® Protection Airbag System is the newly developed version of the well-known Snowpulse® Lifebag System. The special shape of the airbag and its clever integration in different backpacks are unique features. The shape of the airbag protects the wearers head, neck and chest area from mechanical injuries and in the event of an avalanche ensures an optimal position by keeping the wearers head and upper body on the surface.

The Protection Airbag found in the Highmark SPIRE Avalanche Airbag Vest can not only help to prevent complete burial, it also offers additional protection from mechanical injuries. In addition to the safety features, we have succeeded in designing a completely removable airbag system. This allows the user to swap on the system between several backpacks, allowing him or her to always select the most suitable backpack for the relevant application.
