Power Commander V Fuel Injection Module (70-152) by Starting Line?. This Power Commander from DynoJet allows full EFI tuning capabilities along with the ability to manipulate ignition timing. This provides the user a means to properly and effectively manipulate ignition timing over the entire RPM range. Its high resolution allows the user to adjust both fuel and timing with pinpoint accuracy. Tune your way to the top of the pack! So, why choose to manipulate ignition timing electronically rather than mechanically (i.e.: with a timing key or physically moving the timing pickup) when manipulating it mechanically is usually so much less expensive to do? First, it is a little known fact that using a mechanical means to manipulate ignition timing also effects the fuel injector timing. So the gains that you can get from mechanically manippulating your timing are most often offset by changing your fuel injector timing accordingly where they use the same pickups. Second, mechanically manipulating your ignition timing will give you the same amount of advance or retard over the entire RPM range of the engine. Using an electronic means allows you to pick and choose the RPM and throttle position areas that need either more or less timing without affecting the others.
